Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common glue questions.

What is the strongest glue for general repairs?
For most general repairs, two-part epoxy provides the strongest bond. It creates a permanent, water-resistant bond on almost any material — metal, wood, glass, ceramic, plastic. For quick fixes, polyurethane glues like Gorilla Glue are excellent alternatives that expand to fill gaps.
Is E6000 glue waterproof?
Yes, E6000 is waterproof once fully cured (typically 24–72 hours). It's also flexible, paintable, and dishwasher-safe. However, it is not recommended for aquarium use because it contains solvents that can leach into water.
What's the difference between super glue and CA glue?
Nothing — they're the same thing. CA (cyanoacrylate) glue is the chemical name, while super glue is the common commercial term. Krazy Glue is another brand name for the same cyanoacrylate adhesive.
Can I use super glue on fabric?
Super glue (cyanoacrylate) can bond fabric, but it creates a rigid, brittle bond that cracks when the fabric flexes. For fabric, use a flexible adhesive like E6000, Fabric-Tac, or a dedicated fabric glue instead.
How long does it take for epoxy to cure?
Most epoxies have a working time of 5–30 minutes and reach handling strength in 1–2 hours, but full cure typically takes 24–72 hours. Fast-setting epoxies can cure in 5 minutes, while marine epoxies may take up to 7 days for maximum strength.
Is hot glue safe for fabric?
Yes, hot glue (hot melt adhesive) works well on fabric for temporary or craft projects. It bonds quickly, is flexible, and washes out. However, it's not permanent — for durable fabric repairs, use a liquid fabric adhesive or E6000 instead.
